Hannagh Pugsley and Mary Pearse, two generations of leading UK women shooters proudly supported by Green Leopard.
Daughter of shooting parents, Hannah started shooting aged 11. At just 14 years old she represented GBR at the World Championships in Zagreb - her first major international match. Since then she has shot for GBR Junior Women and England Junior Women on numerous occasions. She is a member of the England Shooting Academy, and shoots 10m Air Rifle, 50m Prone and 3 Positions (smallbore), as well as 300m Prone - in Senior Women's International matches for GBR.
In the Spring of 2009 she took up Target Rifle, initially shooting with Wellington College - where she is a Shooting Scholar and current Captain of Shooting. In her first Imperial Meeting, in July 2009, she enjoyed great success, winning a place in the Second Stage of the Queen's Prize, appearing on numerous Prize Lists, and representing GB Cadets in the Inter-Services Long and Short Range matches.
Mary, her Mother, started shooting a little longer ago (!), when she was 17. At University, Mary shot for Imperial College and London University in the early '70s. and won the BUSF Championship. Initially shooting mainly Target Rifle, over a number of years Mary won numerous Queen's Final badges, shot for Surrey, and then Devon, and was a member of the 1988 GR Women's Team to Australia. She is perhaps best known for shooting for Great Britain in Canada in 1991 - just 6 weeks before Hannah was born. In 1992, when Hannah was not quite 1 year old, Mary won the Grand Aggregate at Bisley - the first woman to do so. As her family grew, Mary could no longer travel on the extended Target Rifle tours as a member of GB teams, and turned her attention to 300m shooting. She has represented GBR regularly since 1999 in European Cup Matches, in which she has won 2 Gold Medals, and a number of Silver and Bronzes.
Knowing how important it is for a shooter to protect their hearing, Mary and Hannah both use Green Leopard custom moulded earplugs and are immensely grateful to Green Leopard for supplying these. This sponsorship is particularly generous as Hannah has needed new plugs each season as she, and her ears, have been growing!

Mick Gault the UK Olympic and Commonwealth gold medal winining pistol shooter is proudly sponsored by Green Leopard...
Mick Gault is England’s most successful sportsperson in the history of the Commonwealth Games with fifteen winners’ medals, nine of which are Gold. He has been ranked number one in Air Pistol and Free Pistol since 1990, been British Champion thirteen times in the last fifteen years and holds five British records. After using moulded ear protectors for over three years, he commented: “By significantly reducing the level of noise during events, the Green Leopard system has prevented long-term damage to my hearing. It has also been a key factor in improving performance by eliminating distractions and enabling me to focus more clearly on each shot.” “Green Leopard is a company that really does care for its customers. I have worked with them over the years to develop bespoke solutions including a set with a jack plug to use with a PSP player. This was particularly valuable on the flight to the Commonwealth Games, when I was able to play with my PSP without the drone of the aircraft engines getting in the way. The company has also just made me another set in a new softer material with a gizmo fitted that lets you hear people talking.”
Green Leopard has been proud to supply staff at Airkix with custom hearing protection...
Based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Airkix operates the only purpose-built vertical wind tunnel in the UK. With a wind speed in excess of 170 mph, it is used by skydiving teams to hone their skills as well as training people how to skydive safely. In its first two years, more than 80,000 customers have learnt how to skydive with Airkix. AirKix instructors often spend up to five hours every day in the wind-tunnel so quality ear protection is very important in order to prevent long-term damage to hearing. According to Axel Zohmann of Airkix, who has successfully completed more than 6500 jumps: “Green Leopard offers by far the best ear protection. They fit great, are comfortable over long periods of time and offer great noise reduction. Our staff are extremely fortunate to have sponsorship through Green Leopard and the customer service is outstanding!”
Green Leopard earplugs ensure Lee's hearing survive his 'Ride The World' motorcycle tour.
GREEN LEOPARD PROTECTS HEARING THROUGHOUT ROUND THE WORLD TRIP KETTERING, NORTHANTS, AUGUST 2007 – KETTERING, NORTHANTS, AUGUST 2007 – Green Leopard, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of hearing protection systems, has supplied Lee William Wheeler with 2 sets of custom-moulded ear plugs for use during his round the world motorcycle trip. Encompassing over 30 countries and covering 150,000 miles through some of the world’s roughest terrains, the Green Leopard hearing protection system will enable Lee to travel in comfort and eliminate the damaging effects that prolonged exposure to wind noise would have on his long-term hearing. An effective hearing protection system became a top priority after researching the effect that riding his single cylinder BMW F650GS (Dakar) every day for two years would have. He discovered that the cumulative effective of the trip would mean that he lost about 15 years of quality hearing. As one of the leading manufacturers of hearing protection products, he asked Green Leopard to recommend an effective solution that would last for the duration of his trip. After detailed discussions, moulded hearing protectors were recommended for his journey and two sets were supplied. They were custom moulded by Jim Brown, Lee’s local Sheffield dealer. According to Lee Wheeler: “I like to wear my safety helmet very tight and normal headphones tend to press onto my ears making them hurt after about 20 minutes of riding. With the Green Leopards fitted, I can ride for hours without pain and they provide a great balance between protection and being able to hear other road users.” After starting out in England, Lee Wheeler is crossing Europe before heading south down Africa’s east coast to reach Cape Town. He will then be travelling up the west cost to reach the Congo before catching a ferry to South America from where he will head north until he reaches Alaska. From there, he will fly to Russia and then ride west until he reaches the UK in 2009. Reporting back from his trip, Lee comments that he does not just use the Green Leopard system for riding: “They have also helped me get some great sleep in noisy environments including local hostel dormitories that seem to be filled with some of the world’s loudest snorers, and while camping at service stations where HGV’s are constantly pulling up and leaving.”Shopping Basket
